Full-Time Mechanical Engineer – Rotating Equipment – Oil, Gas, & Chemical (OGC)

This position can be based out of either our greater Vancouver, BC OR Calgary, AB office. Opportunities for flexible work are available.
Responsibilities
This position focuses on the design and specification of rotating equipment & their auxiliary systems in the oil and gas and petrochemical industries. Responsibilities include:
- Perform rotating equipment technology selection.
- Evaluate equipment sizing, design, and performance to meet process duty requirements.
- Prepare specifications with sufficient detail to define the equipment scope and technical requirements, including auxiliary systems, for inquiry and order of equipment on projects.
- Perform technical bid evaluations.
- Review vendor documents submitted for review or approval. Act as the communication focal point for appropriate information/data between the vendor, client, and other disciplines.
- Support installation, commissioning, and startup of rotating equipment.
- Develop criteria, guidelines, and best practices for the equipment to provide for a safe, efficient, cost-effective, and reliable end product.
- Mentor less experienced engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university.
- At least 7+ years of experience in rotating equipment application specifically in the LNG, midstream, refining, and/or petrochemical industries.
- Thorough (recognized authority) knowledge and application of: API standards for rotating equipment and their auxiliary systems; Best practices associated with rotating equipment and their auxiliary systems; Quality assurance methods and practices for manufacture of the equipment.
- Strong understanding of underlying engineering principles of best practices.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to safety, ethics, and integrity.

Base Compensation: $125,000/yr – $130,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
